Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open Thursday

What a treat – three out of four semi-finals to enjoy for us at Free Tennis Betting Tips, and they are three intriguing looking matches.

The first of the women’s singles is the match up between Victoria Azarenka and Kim Clijsters. Clijsters’ fitness issues should be improving as she has more time to rest her damaged ankle, while Azarenka was up and down in her win over Agnieska Radwanska. The two met twice last year on hard courts, and split their matches, with Azarenka coming out the last time they met. The one thing is it’s very hard to envision here is a total blow out, so we’ll try for the over 22.5 games.

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Azarenka/Clijsters to be more than 22.5 games @ 1.83 with Betfred – use our link and claim a free £50 bet.

In the second semi-final, there’s a re-match between Petra Kvitova and Maria Sharapova from Wimbledon 2011, with the side dish of the scrap over the world number one slot. Kvitova has shown her trademark combination of flurries of winners and periods of wild inconsistency, while many observers say Sharapova is playing her best tennis in three years, despite those all to familiar hiccups on second serve. With the Czech priced up as favourite, Sharapova looks the value, though this is low stakes fare.

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Maria Sharapova @ 2.25 with Stan James – use our link for a free £25 bet!

Finally, our main bet of the day is another underdog, with Rafael Nadal to beat Roger Federer. Why Nadal? Well he seems to be showing little signs of apparent shoulder problems. Secondly, we still await evidence that Federer has solved the imbalances in their match up. His wins over Nadal have come in World Tour Finals, with the Spaniard beaten up and unsuited to the London courts. In the Slams, the Spaniard continues to reign, and he is too big a price considering these factors.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open – Tuesday

Tuesday completes the Australian Open round of 16, and we’ll look to get out of our slump at Free Tennis Betting Tips.

We’ll look at the match between Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro first, and even though Federer has looked fairly comfortable so far here, this should surely be a real test of his credentials.

Del Potro certainly won’t be in the psychological headlock that Bernard Tomic put himself in by admitting Federer was his idol. Del Potro has eased pretty comfortably into the last eight, and he should extended the Swiss player, and has every chance of taking a set, so we’ll take the over on game – with the intense heat likely to drain both players at some point.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open Monday

It’s the start of the round of 16 and here at Free Tennis Betting Tips the battle for value goes on.

There are a couple of bets worth looking at in the men’s singles. The first has to be Novak Djokovic to continue his imperious form and get a straight sets win over Lleyton Hewitt. Hewitt has surely had his last hurrah, and frankly, he should have been taken out in the opening round by Cedrik Marcel-Stebe. Djokovic has been imperious so far, and we’ll go for the 3-0 here for the World Number One.

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Novak Djokovic to win 3-0 1.36 with 888 Sport

On the other hand, we’re prepared to give some credit to Mikhail Kukushkin as he prepares to face Andy Murray. The two met earlier this year, with the adopted Kazak taking a set off the British player, and though he had a terrible choking fit, he did manage to calm himself and get past Gael Monfils in the last round. It means it could be worth a small interest in going with Kukushkin to stretch Murray a little and cover the handicap. He’s been given a whopping 9.5 game start by most bookmakers, so we’d even collect on a 6-3 6-3 6-3 win for Murray here, and his efforts so far this year deserve a little more credit.

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Mikhail Kukushkin +9.5 games @ 1.95 with Bet Victor – use our link for a free £25 bet.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Day Seven – Australian Open

So we’re into the last 16 matches and here at Free Tennis Betting Tips we’re again looking to try and sniff out value.

In the four men’s singles matches, there are four very clear favourites in Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych, Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro. None makes outright appeal at short odds, but there does seem to be a feeling that Federer could really give a tired Bernard Tomic, who seems in awe of him, a hard time. If you do fancy a bet on the men’s matches, Federer is a sporting -7.5 games at 2.00 with Paddy Power, but we won’t be investing.

The women’s singles contests appear tighter, and we think there’s a decent handicap bet in the match with Caroline Wozniacki and Jelena Jankovic. Jankovic has not dropped a set yet, and could be ripe to give the Dane a game here. The world number one is making adjustment to her game, and could be a little vulnerable. Jankovic does have a decent record against her opponent on hard courts, and throw in Wozniacki’s writ issues we think she can at least cover the handicap here.

This is our one play of the day.

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Jelena Jankovic +3.5 games @ 1.90 with Bet Victor – use our link and claim a free £25 bet.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open – Day Six

Australian Open

At last a welcome double for us at Free Tennis Betting Tips with Bernard Tomic and Julia Goerges proving a successful double act.

Saturday sees the completion of the last 32 for the men and women’s singles, and again features several extremely short priced favourites.

We’re prepared to take one partial gamble, and look for Maria Kirilenko to extend Petra Kvitova. The Russian battered Jarmilla Gajdosova in round one, before a three set win in round two. Her net skills make her an a-typical opponent to face in the women’s game. When you add that to Kvitova’s tendency for her game to go through phases where her radar goes askew – as we saw in the last round against Carla Suarez Navarro – there is a decent chance that the Russian can cover her handicap here at a nice price.

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Maria Kirilenko +5.5 games at 2.15 with Bet Victor – use our link and claim a free £25 bet.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open Day Five

So to day five of the Australian Open, and we’ve hit the third round of the men’s and women’s singles.

Nicolas Mahut’s fine effort when injured helped us no end yesterday, and we’re hopeful this can mark a turn around in fortunes. Our first pick is in the battle of the slicers and dicers, with Bernard Tomic up against Alex Dolgopolov. Neither play is relishing facing the other, given the way they like to take the pace off the ball and use slice and spin to disconcert their more orthodox opponents. Two factors seem to come into play though. The first is home advantage for Tomic, who is starting to engage with fans.

The second is Dolgopolov’s fitness. The Ukrainian admitted he struggled in his opener with injury problems against Greg Jones, and was then taken to five sets again by Tobias Kamke. He can surely only put up with that for so long before it takes it’s toll. The early market moves have been for Tomic, so we’ll grab the value left early with Boylesports

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Bernard Tomic @ 1.80 with Boylesports – use our link and get a free £20 bet when you join Boylesports.

Our other pick is a return to Julia Goerges, who looked nice and efficient against Eleni Danillidou before the Greek player was forced to retire. Goerges is up against clay courter Romina Oprandi, who pulled off a big surprise when knocking out Francesca Schiavone. Consistency has not been a big feature of the Italian’s career and with Goerges getting fitter the German looks good to repay us here.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open Day Four

So to Thursday here at Free Tennis Betting Tips, and more Australian Open picks.

We think we have identified two decent picks in the men’s singles matches. The first is Pablo Andujar to upset Juan Ignacio Chela. Andujar has been regarded as a clay court specialist, but with these relatively slow conditions he’s in a reasonable condition and his straight sets win over Igor Kunitsyn was a pretty decent first round result. Andujar also won both of their meetings last year, on clay and on a slow indoor court in Valencia. Chela’s three setter with Michael Russell was also pretty exhausting, so Andujar is tempting at 2.30 with Boylesports. Don’t forget to take advantage of our links for a free £20 bet on Andujar, courtesy of Free Tennis Betting Tips.

Speaking of people involved in exhausting matches, we fancy Nicolas Mahut to defy the handicap in his match with Japan’s Tatsuma Ito. Mahut’s serve is his main weapon against the Japanese player who is a steady sort who does well in Challengers, but who may lack the big shots to unsettle the Frenchman. Mahut produced a really good win against Radek Stepanek in Round One, and that would be good enough to do the job here. Mahut is 1.80 at -3.5 games with Paddy Power.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open Day Three

So to day three of the Australian Open, and a first example of the annoyances of having 32 seeds, rather than 16, which leads to some quite sterile second round contests.

There are many potentially one sided match ups that offer little value even in set betting. Anyway, enough of our high horse and on to what are the best bets for this third day.

We have noticed Julia Goerges (who wouldn’t) and she offers one half decent bet in her match with Eleni Danillidou. Goerges is at 2.00 with Ladbrokes to win in straight sets here, which is way out of line with most of their rivals.  That price as low as 1.73 or 1.80 elsewhere. Goerges should have too much power for the Greek, who plays a more gentle, if attacking game, from another era – and as long as she is fit after suffering earlier this year that price on Goerges is worth an investment.

The other match up perhaps to look at is Marcos Baghdatis v Stanislas Wawrinka. Baghdatis has a tradition of doing well in Australia- remember he’s a former finalist here – and has started 2012 brightly,  in contrast to Wawrinka, who managed to lose to Go Soeda in Chennai. The Cypriot also has a vociferous crowd here, especially in night matches. These should help him to edge home, and we’ll have a small nibble on him at 1.80 with Bet Victor.

Free Tennis Betting Tips recommends: Goerges 2-0 v Danillidou, Baghdatis to beat Wawrinka.

Free Tennis Betting Tips Australian Open Day Two

So here at Free Tennis Betting Tips, we’re ready for Day 2 of the Australian Open – there’s another 32 men’s singles matches to examine, and again there’s been some suitably frustrating pricing up by the bookmaking community, so the challenge to find something better than average continues.

When the best you can get on Milos Raonic to win in straight sets versus Filippo Volandri is 1.30, you feel like it’s time to chill out and keep the money in the pocket. But where would be the fun in that?

We’ll start with Phillip Petzschner’s match against the 6’5″ Czech Lukas Rosol. The German is our fancy here against Rosol, a giant man who may not be at home on what appear to be slightly slow courts (like that’s something new). The German might as well be backed on the handicap here and we’ll take a shot at him covering a -4.5 game handicap at 2.20 with Bet 365.

One of those minefield matches we’re prepared to risk a small involvement with is Thomaz Bellucci against Dudi Sela.  The Israeli number one produced a great comeback from two sets down to beat Bellucci  in last year’s US Open and followed it up with another win in the ATP Challenger finals, beating him on home soil.  We’ll go for a Sela three-peat at 1.83 with Stan James

Our short price doubles and trebles selection is Kaia Kanepi to beat Johanna Larsson in straight sets. Kanepi’s looked in great form and her power game should have too much oomph for the Swedish player.  That’s best priced 1.30 with Betfred

FREE TENNIS BETTING TIPS recommends: Petzschner -4.5 games v Rosol, Sela to beat Bellucci and Kanepi 2-0 v Larsson
